Surprises!

Wednesday afternoon's nap didn't go as planned. After about 30 minutes of peaceful silence, I heard my little dude yelling in his crib. I go upstairs to check and find a very distraught toddler... you know the look - tears stuck to his cheeks, bottom lip out as far as he can push it - sad story. Anywho, said toddler was without pants or his diaper and unfortunately had removed both of these items only BEFORE taking quite the dump. Yes, dump. He had taken his mess and smeared it all along the crib rails, all over his bedding and to top it (ha?) all over his head. Lots of hugs, reminders that he and I were both okay, one giant bath, 3 pots of boiling water with Oxyclean, Shout, prewash and an extra hot washing cycle and we are doing okay. My only regret...letting Mase indulge in about 2 cups of blueberries that morning. Let's just say buns, bedding and bath were purple.

The other surprising incident this week...

Just a little background for the video. I walked in to get Mason from his nap and he was literally riding his crib rail and shouting, "NEIGH, NEIGH, NEIGH!" The ONLY reason you hear me encouraging this behavior in the video is just so we can make sure we have it captured on video to send out warnings to the grandparents...looks like we get to go pick up that toddler bed rail sooner than planned.

PS - Thanks to family and friends we laid about 3000 sq ft of sod last weekend - and can't wait to get to play on it in the summer! Right now, we have the greenest lawn in the hood...let's hope that lasts! When all of the landscaping is finished, we'll share some photos.
